About

Dog Obedience & Behavior Training

At Hospitable Hounds, we want to help you create a great relationship with your dog so that he or she can become a well-mannered, well-behaved part of your family.  We believe that such a relationship begins with proper training.

Dogs and people have formed a symbiotic relationship over time that can be truly remarkable and rewarding.  However, dogs and people communicate very differently from each other and therefore the human world can often be confusing for dogs.  This can lead to miscommunication between dogs and their families, which often causes a variety of behavioral problems.  The good news is that it’s never too late (or too early!) to start a training program so you can learn how to communicate effectively with your dog, and reverse or prevent these behavioral problems.

Hospitable Hounds is here to help!  Whether your dog has just started to struggle with difficult behaviors, has a long history of behaviors you’d like to change, or has just been brought into your family, NOW is the right time for training!

Training is important as a way to create a bond with your dog that is based on mutual respect and trust.  Your bespoke training plan with Hospitable Hounds will not only help you create a strong relationship with your dog, but also teach your dog the skills he or she needs to be able to make good choices and behave appropriately in your home.

But don’t worry, training with Hospitable Hounds isn’t about strict obedience, rigid rules and time-consuming training sessions.  While boundaries need to be established and behaviors must be taught and reinforced, your training goals can be achieved primarily through a games-based approach that is fun and rewarding for you and your dog!
